[As a sword spirit, it both is and isn't an unfamiliar concept. Swords could be more attached to their owners than most spirits, but Doudanuki never had a master he felt any real affection for. Still, he'd seen Yamatonokami and Kashuu and a Imanotsurugi, and he knew to what lengths they'd consider going for their former masters.]

He wonders if that care is inherently corruption. He doesn't want to kill it. He shies away from the idea of forgetting how much he loves his friends, wanting to know for sure that the corruption will never find another way to him before making that sacrifice.]

That is what I thought. I know that I have changed, but it seemed to me that the changes were harmless. It is clear that I was wrong.
